Garcia v. Accelerated Servicing Group, LLC
Filed: November 8, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-06531
A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Accelerated Servicing Group, LLC over claims that the debt collector failed to clearly convey in a collection letter the amount of a consumer’s alleged debt.
New York
A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Accelerated Servicing Group, LLC over claims that the debt collector failed to clearly convey in a collection letter the amount of a consumer’s alleged debt. The plaintiff says he received a notice from the defendant that stated a “Balance” of $3,923.47 but failed to specify whether the amount would increase due to added interest or fees. The suit argues that without this information, the least sophisticated consumer would be unable to determine how much he or she actually owed, and, as a result, could not submit a payment that would satisfy the debt.
