The Law Offices of Jared P. Turman, PLLC is the defendant in a proposed class action that alleges it unlawfully failed to effectively list in a debt collection notice the name of the plaintiff’s original creditor. According to the lawsuit, the defendant violated the l Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by “merely naming the creditor without specifically identifying the entity as the current creditor,” which the case adds is not sufficient to comply with the FDCPA.
From here the lawsuit alleges the defendant further violated the FDCPA by failing to advise the plaintiff in the same collection notice that for her to receive to verification of the debt, she must submit a request in writing.
