Pennsylvania
Law Offices of Frederic I. Weinberg & Associates, P.C. has been named as the defendant in a Pennsylvania woman’s proposed class action that claims the debt collector failed to clearly identify her creditor. According to the suit, the defendant sent the plaintiff a letter that stated the following:
"RE: Client: Barclays Bank Delaware”
Nowhere in the letter, the complaint argues, does the defendant specify any entity as the plaintiff’s “creditor” as required under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). As a result, the suit alleges, the plaintiff was unsure as to whom she owed the purported debt.
