Fishon v. Premier Nutrition Corporation
Filed: December 5, 2016 ◆§ 4:16-cv-06980-DMR
Another proposed class action claims Premier Nutrition, the maker of Joint Juice, unlawfully purports its products as having health benefits that do not pass muster.
Another proposed class action claims Premier Nutrition, the maker of Joint Juice, unlawfully purports its products as having health benefits that do not pass muster among consumers who use the product. According to the 24-page lawsuit, Premier Nutrition falsely and deceptively advertises Joint Juice as a daily drink that can “nourish cartilage, lubricate joints, and improve joint comfort.” In realty, Joint Juice has no such health benefits, the lawsuit argues, and is marketed and advertised, sometimes with made-up “expert” stories, to induce consumers into spending more money for a misleading product.
“Despite [the defendant’s} representations, glucosamine, alone or in combination with other ingredients including chondroitin sulfate, is not effective in providing the represented joint health benefits,” the complaint claims.
