Weight management company Jenny Craig, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action filed over its alleged transmission of unauthorized promotional text messages.
The plaintiff, a New York resident, says she began receiving automated texts about discounted Jenny Craig services in January 2019. The woman claims she never gave the company her express written consent to be contacted through an automatic telephone dialing system, and even had her phone number listed on the National Do Not Call registry at the time she received the texts. According to the case, the allegedly unsolicited messages violated the plaintiff’s privacy and disrupted her daily life.
