Investment Retrievers is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a Florida man who claims the debt collector failed to clearly communicate the amount of his alleged debt. The plaintiff says he received a collection letter from the company that informed him his “Total Due” equaled $16,260.03, but failed to indicate that his balance was subject to interest, late fees, or other charges.
The complaint further argues that if the plaintiff submitted a payment of $16,260.03, he would be unsure as to whether his debt was paid off “as additional charges were continuing to accrue.”
