Hallums v. Infinity Insurance Company et al
Filed: October 28, 2016 ◆§ 1:16-cv-24507-FAM
A consumer has filed a lawsuit against FirstCredit, Inc. alleging the company violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
A lawsuit has been filed against Infinity Insurance Company alleging that auto policy holders were unlawfully charged increased premiums in conjunction with a rider known as the “Lessor Liability Endorsement.” According to the suit, the rider claims to ““insure the risk of lessor liability upon a loss covered under a Defendants’ policy issued to a lessee.” The plaintiff, however, calls the rider an “illusory product” that provides “no insurance at all” because the risk of lessor liability is “non-existent.” The suit hopes to cover all auto policy holders insured by Infinity who were charged increased premiums for the Lessor Liability Endorsement within the last four years.
