Dunn et al. v. Honeywell International Inc.
Filed: September 26, 2023 ◆§ 3:23-cv-00607
A proposed class action alleges Honeywell International failed to protect individuals’ private information from a May 2023 data breach.

The class action settlement, which was preliminarily approved on June 26, 2024, covers more than 118,300 people who were sent notice from Honeywell that their personal information was involved in a data breach experienced by the company in 2023.
Class members can file a Honeywell claim form for benefits at the official data breach settlement website, HoneywellDataSettlement.com.
The deadline to file a claim is October 24, 2024.
To submit a claim form, head to this page and enter the login and password included in the settlement notice that was mailed to you.

“If you do not have the login and password, and believe that you are a member of the Settlement Class, contact the Settlement Administrator at 1-866-742-4955 or HoneywellSettlement@rg2claims.com,” the site says.
Covered individuals who file a timely, valid claim form can be reimbursed for up to $425 in documented out-of-pocket expenses fairly traceable to the Honeywell data breach. Class members can also receive up to $2,750 for documented “extraordinary” out-of-pocket expenses if their identity was stolen due to the data breach.
Finally, class members are eligible to receive reimbursement for up to three hours of lost time spent dealing with the breach at a rate of $27.50 per hour, as well as 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services for those who did not enroll previously.
Class members must submit supporting documentation along with their claim form to receive compensation for out-of-pocket expenses, extraordinary expenses, or lost time.
Settlement payments will be distributed sometime after the court grants final approval to the deal. A final approval hearing is scheduled for November 1, 2024.
The deal resolves a class action lawsuit filed against Honeywell after cybercriminals allegedly hacked MOVEit, a file transfer service the company used to store and send sensitive files. The complaint claimed that the data breach was a result of Honeywell’s failure to implement adequate data security practices.
