Florida
Grieco Ford Fort Lauderdale, LLC is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a Florida resident who claims the company unlawfully contacted him on his cell phone without prior consent to do so. The plaintiff alleges he received a text message from the defendant on April 13, 2018, urging him to call the provided number and take advantage of the dealership’s offer to buy his car. The text, along with a voicemail the plaintiff received on the same day, was sent using automated dialing technology, the case surmises, and constituted a violation of federal law, as the plaintiff allegedly never gave the company his permission to contact him with telemarketing messages.
