General Nutrition Corporation—GNC—is the defendant in a proposed class action filed in Florida that alleges its website, GNC.com, is discriminatory toward blind and visually impaired Internet users. The lawsuit claims GNC.com is so tied to the defendant’s physical store locations that the alleged inaccessibility of its website for proposed class members constitutes a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), namely because information such as store hours and addresses cannot be accessed by popular screen reading software.
