Globe Life and Accident Insurance Co. Hit with Class Action Over Suspected Robocalls

Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company is on the receiving end of a proposed class action in which the plaintiff claims the telemarketer unlawfully contacted consumers’ cell phones without first obtaining consent to do so. Filed in California, the lawsuit claims the defendant placed a call to the plaintiff’s cell phone in January 2018 in an attempt to solicit his business. The plaintiff alleges the call came by way of an automatic telephone dialing system, the use of which for non-emergency purposes is prohibited under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
