Flynn v. GF Management, Inc.
Filed: December 19, 2017 ◆§ 2:17cv1635
A PA woman alleges the shuttle services offered at some of GF Management's hotels are out of step with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
A Pennsylvania woman has filed a proposed class action against hotel operator GF Management, Inc. over claims the guest transportation services offered at the company’s facilities are not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The plaintiff claims she called the defendant’s Embassy Suites and was told the complimentary guest shuttle service provided by the hotel could not accommodate wheelchairs and that no alternative option was available. According to the complaint, further investigation performed on the plaintiff’s behalf found that the transportation services offered by at least 11 of the defendant’s hotels across New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas deny ADA-protected individuals the same benefits and privileges as those afforded to guests without disabilities.
The complaint notes the plaintiff, an ADA-compliance “tester,” is a former board member of Disability Options Network and a current member of disability advocacy group ADAPT.
