A proposed class action filed on behalf of Florida residents alleges defendant General Revenue Corporation engaged in false, deceptive, or misleading conduct.
A proposed class action filed on behalf of Florida residents alleges defendant General Revenue Corporation engaged in false, deceptive, or misleading conduct while attempting to collect consumer debts. The lawsuit, which cites alleged Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) violations, claims the defendant sent collection notices to Florida consumers that unlawfully implied General Revenue Corporation may impose additional charges on top of the balance owed. The case alleges this conduct could lead the least sophisticated consumer, the standard under which debt collectors’ conduct is often measured, to be unsure as to whether his or her balance may increase.
