Cahill v. GC Services Limited Partnership
Filed: June 27, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-01308
A class action claims GC Services Limited Partnership placed unwanted robocalls in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
GC Services Limited Partnership, no stranger to the role of defendant in debt collection class actions, finds itself facing a lawsuit out of California alleging it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The plaintiff claims GC Services, to collect debts, used automatic telephone dialing technology to place calls to consumers’ cell phones without first receiving prior express consent. The case alleges the plaintiff alone received 39 calls from the defendant from a number that “spoofed” the area code where the woman’s phone was registered.
