Suynov v. Frontline Asset Strategies, Llc
Filed: December 13, 2017 ◆§ 1:17cv7260
Frontline Asset Strategies, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a New York woman who claims the defendant sent her a misleading debt collection letter in violation of federal law.
New York
Frontline Asset Strategies, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a New York woman who claims the defendant sent her a misleading collection letter in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. According to the complaint, the letter included the following statement:
“As of the date of this letter, you owe $2,873.61.”
The suit argues that the language in the letter implied to the plaintiff that her balance could increase in the future and attempted to coerce her into paying off the debt as soon as possible to avoid additional fees. In actuality, the complaint claims, the plaintiff’s account was not subject to interest or added charges and would never change.
