Filed: October 20, 2016 ◆§ 3:16-cv-07574-MAS-DEA
A Wawa employee has filed a class action against the convenience store chain claiming he and other non-exempt workers have been deprived of proper wages.
A Wawa employee has filed a class action against the convenience store chain claiming he and other non-exempt workers have been deprived of proper wages. According to the case, Wawa does not pay workers for time spent conducting daily gasoline price surveys of competitors. (These prices would then be sent to Wawa corporate office.) The plaintiff claims Wawa does not reimburse employees for gas and vehicle costs and makes them conduct this work either before or after they’ve clocked in or out of their shifts.
The proposed class includes all non-exempt Wawa employees who did gas price surveys for the company in New Jersey within the last three years.
