Florida
A Florida resident claims in a proposed class action that he received numerous unauthorized text advertisements from Checkers Drive-In Restaurants in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
The plaintiff says he received several automated texts containing discount coupons for the fast food chain between June and July 2018. Citing the TCPA, the lawsuit claims the defendant failed to obtain the man’s express written consent before messaging him using an automatic telephone dialing system. The case seeks to compensate the plaintiff for alleged damages that include invasion of privacy and aggravation.
