Florida
Lizette Arguello Insurance Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action filed by a Florida consumer who claims the company sent him an unsolicited promotional text message.
According to the complaint, the defendant—which operates under the name Estrella Insurance—sent the plaintiff a text in September 2018 that advertised its auto, home and business insurance services. The plaintiff alleges that he did not provide the company with his express written consent to receive the text, which was supposedly sent using an automatic telephone dialing system. Worse, the suit says the man’s number was registered with the National Do Not Call Registry when he received the message.
