A proposed class action filed in New York alleges First National Collection Bureau, Inc. and LVNV Funding, LLC broke federal debt collection law by failing to accurately convey in a collection notice sent to the plaintiff the amount of debt owed. The plaintiff, more specifically, claims the defendants failed to note her balance was subject to accruing interest and late fees, an ostensible violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
