A proposed class action has been filed against Federal Realty Investment Trust by two wheelchair-reliant plaintiffs who claim parking lots and paths of travel at the defendant’s facilities are not compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. The complaint focuses on the defendant’s retail facilities in Flourtown and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, where the plaintiffs allege they experienced “unnecessary difficulty and risk.” The ADA violations alleged in the suit include a lack of van-accessible parking spaces and excessively sloped parking spaces and routes to store entrances.
