Filed: November 21, 2016 ◆§ 1:16-cv-06449
Ingram & Associates LLC is the defendant in a class action over the company's allegedly deceptive debt collection practices.
Ingram & Associates LLC is the defendant in a class action over the company’s allegedly deceptive debt collection practices. Filed in New York, the lawsuit claims the defendant violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by sending collection letters that seemingly included three sets of debtors’ validation rights. Providing contradicting statements in a collection letter—such as telling the consumer to respond to the debt today to avoid future communications while at the same time saying he or she has 30 days to validate a debt—is a breach of the FDCPA.
