New York
Frontline Asset Strategies, LLC is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit filed over an alleged violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The plaintiff in the case claims he received a debt collection letter from the defendant that stated the following:
“As of the date of this letter, you owe $1,947.90.”
According to the complaint, this language falsely implied that the plaintiff would benefit by paying the debt immediately and avoiding possible balance increases when the amount of the debt was not subject to additional interest or charges.
