FDCPA Lawsuit Filed Against Transworld Systems
Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Joseph v. Transworld Systems Inc
Filed: March 14, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-01429
A proposed class action filed against Transworld Systems alleges violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
A proposed class action filed over alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) claims defendant Transworld Systems Inc. failed to note in a collection notice sent to the plaintiff whether her debt amount may increase due to accrued interest or fees. The complaint argues that under the FDCPA, debt collectors are obligated to clearly convey the amount owed by the debtor. Failing to do so, the case claims, may lead the unsophisticated consumer, such as the plaintiff, to be unable to determine the exact amount of money owed or whether payment of the stated amount would satisfy the debt in full.
