D & A Services, LLC of IL is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit alleging a collection letter it sent a New York resident violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The plaintiff says the collection notice he received specified his “Current Balance” without indicating whether the amount was subject to interest, late fees, or other charges that would cause it to increase over time. As a result, the suit argues, the plaintiff was unable to determine with certainty how much he should pay to settle the account.
