A proposed class action lawsuit out of Arkansas claims Faber and Brand, LLC violated federal debt collection laws when it sent the plaintiff a collection notice in which it failed to indicate exactly how much was owed on the woman’s debt. The case says the communication included the following:
The complaint, citing possible Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDPCA) violations, argues the plaintiff could reasonably be led to believe her balance owed was $811.98, which already included $6.27 of interest, or that she owed $818.25, with a principal balance of $811.98 and $6.27 in interest.
