Consumer reporting agency Experian Information Solutions, Inc., is the defendant in a proposed class action regarding alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Consumer reporting agency Experian Information Solutions, Inc., is the defendant in a proposed class action regarding alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The suit claims Experian fails to note the true source of public record information in its consumer reports. The defendant allegedly obtains this information from vendors such as LexisNexis instead of directly from courthouses or other government offices and neglects to list these vendors as their source of the information. According to the complaint, “this practice deceives consumers and limits consumers’ access to the true source of Public Record Information,” hindering them from addressing any errors in the information.
