A New York woman has filed suit against EOS CCA, Inc. over alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The suit claims that the defendant illegally attempted to collect a debt from a Buffalo resident without possessing a Buffalo Collection Agency License. It further argues that the letter sent to the plaintiff failed to disclose whether interest was included in the amount listed or whether interest was continuing to accrue. According to the lawsuit, these alleged failures render the collection letter illegal under the FDCPA.
