A class action lawsuit alleging violations of federal debt collection and consumer protection laws has been filed against Element Global Services, Inc. The complaint claims the debt collection agency left consumers phone messages without meaningfully disclosing that the calls were from a debt collector, an alleged violation of both the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
The lawsuit claims the calls made by the defendants featured a prerecorded voice message and were placed using automatic dialing equipment. The plaintiff says she received 46 cell phone messages from the defendant.
