A proposed class action has been filed in Florida federal court against DISH Network, LLC over claims that the defendant violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by placing unsolicited telemarketing calls to consumers’ cell phones. The plaintiff in the case says she received several phone calls from the defendant that greeted her with a prerecorded message in Spanish and attempted to reach a person the plaintiff claims she does not know. She argues that she was never a DISH Network customer and never consented to receive the automated calls. Even further, the suit alleges that the calls continued even after the plaintiff demanded that the defendant cease its allegedly illegal behavior.
