DeVille Asset Management, Ltd. has been named in a proposed class action alleging the debt collector failed to clearly communicate the amount of a woman's debt.
Texas
DeVille Asset Management, Ltd. has been named in a proposed class action alleging the debt collector failed to clearly communicate the amount of a woman's debt. According to the case, the defendant sent the plaintiff a collection letter with an itemized list containing her “principal balance,” “interest,” and “total balance.” The letter supposedly failed to explain that interest was continuing to accrue on the account or, alternatively, that interest had been waived. If the plaintiff submitted payment for the total listed in the notice, the complaint poses, she would be unsure as to whether her debt would be considered paid in full.
