DeVille Asset Management, Ltd. is facing a lawsuit after sending a consumer a collection letter that supposedly failed to contain necessary information regarding the woman’s alleged debt.
New York
DeVille Asset Management, Ltd. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit after sending a consumer a collection letter that supposedly failed to contain necessary information regarding the woman’s alleged debt. According to the complaint, the defendant’s February 2018 notice didn’t specify, among other required disclosures, the minimum amount the plaintiff supposedly owed when she received the letter, the amount she needed to pay to resolve the debt, the amount of interest and fees owed, nor information needed to calculate her balance on any given day. The case alleges the defendant failed in its obligation to clearly communicate the plaintiff’s debt amount according to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act standards.
