A proposed class action has been filed against USCB, Inc. (which does business as USCB America) in which a California woman claims the debt collector failed to clearly identify her alleged creditor. According to the suit, the defendant sent the plaintiff a collection letter that specified her “ORIGINAL CREDITOR NAME” as “UCLA HEALTH SYSTEM,” but made no mention of her current creditor.
“Merely naming the original creditor does not clearly convey to the consumer who the current creditor is,” the complaint argues.
