Arnold A. Arpino & Associates P.C. has been hit with a proposed class action in New York alleging the debt collection company violated federal law when mailing out notices for debts owed to Winthrop University Hospital. According to the suit, the letters failed to include certain information required by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, including the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed and who referred the account for collection. The suit hopes to certify a class of New York consumers who received such a letter from the defendant within the last year.
