Sightline Media Group, LLC is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims its website – www.Navytimes.com – discriminates against deaf and hard of hearing individuals by failing to offer closed captioning on its videos. According to the suit, the website caters to active and retired members of the U.S. Navy and their families, offering them, among other services, online videos. The plaintiff says he attempted to watch one of the defendant’s videos, “A Look at the Future of Naval Ops, the Littoral Battle Space,” but could not understand the audio portion of the video because the defendant unlawfully failed to include closed captioning.
