In a recently filed lawsuit, a California man seeks relief from automated telemarking phone calls placed by defendant DCI Resorts, Inc. He claims the travel company used a pre-recorded voice in an attempt to sell him one of its vacation packages and that he never consented to receive the call. The suit argues that the use of a pre-recorded voice or automated dialing system to make telemarketing calls is illegal under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. According to the complaint, DCI’s illegal calls invaded the plaintiff’s privacy, “causing a nuisance and lost time.”
