Filed: March 22, 2017 ◆§ 0:17-cv-60589-WPD
A lawsuit citing alleged Telephone Consumer Protection Act violations claims Grand Celebration Cruises and Paradise Cruise Line sent unwanted faxes and phone calls.
A proposed class action citing alleged Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) violations claims defendants Grand Celebration Cruises, LLC and Paradise Cruise Line Operator, Ltd. Inc. sent unwanted junk faxes and placed unauthorized auto-dialed phone calls to consumers as part of an aggressive telemarketing campaign purportedly offering free vacation packages.
The California consumer who filed the action claims the defendants, in connection with their operation of the MV Grand Celebration cruise ship that sails exclusively out of the Port of Palm Beach, Florida, “acted in concert” to market travel packages via unlawful and intrusive tactics. According to the plaintiff, each call, which were reportedly placed with prohibited automatic dialing technology, began with a brief pause followed by a “cheerful, bubbly female operator” who informed him that he won a free cruise.
