Connecticut
Credit Control Services, Inc. (CCS) is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it illegally autodialed a consumer’s cell phone without her consent in an attempt to collect an alleged debt owed by another person. The plaintiff says she received several calls from CCS even after informing them that they were dialing the wrong number and demanding that they stop calling. According to the suit, “CCS uses powerful automated dialing technology capable of extreme invasions of privacy.” The plaintiff says she was “annoyed, frustrated, and inconvenienced” by the calls, which the suit says were made in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
