The official website for the DP Brokerage data breach settlement can be found at DPBSettlement.com.
The deal covers anyone in the United States whose personal information was impacted by the data security incident DP Brokerage experienced in or around December 2022.
To receive DP Brokerage settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form online or by mail by November 30, 2024.
You may file a claim form online on this page. Alternatively, to submit a claim by mail, you can download a PDF claim form or contact the settlement administrator by calling 1-888-406-4985 or emailing info@DPBSettlement.com to request a paper copy.
To file a claim online, you will need the unique Claim Login ID and Claim Login PIN found on the personalized settlement notice you should have received in the mail. The website instructs class members to reach out to the settlement administrator should they be unable to locate this information.
As part of the settlement, eligible class members may submit a claim for two years of credit monitoring and identify theft protection services, the site relays.
In addition, consumers can make a claim for up to $2,000 per person for unreimbursed “ordinary” losses incurred after March 6, 2023 that are supported by documentation and “more likely than not” caused by the data breach, the website shares.
Furthermore, eligible class members may file a claim for up to four hours of lost time spent dealing with problems stemming from the incident, at a rate of $20 per hour, and subject to the $2,000 cap for out-of-pocket expenses, the site says.
Per the settlement website, class members who submit a valid claim form by the deadline may also be eligible for reimbursement of documented “extraordinary” losses incurred after the data breach and that were reasonably linked to the incident, for up to $5,000 per person.
Class members can choose to forego the aforementioned benefits in favor of a $50 cash payment, the site mentions.
The DP Brokerage class action settlement was preliminarily approved by the court on August 2, 2024. The parties now await a hearing set for February 18, 2025, at which the court will decide whether to grant final approval to the terms of the deal.
Settlement benefits will be distributed “as soon as possible” once the deal is approved and after any appeals are resolved, the website states.
The data breach, which DP Brokerage discovered in mid-December 2022, reportedly compromised clients’ names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, Medicare and Medicaid information, health insurance details, diagnosis and prescription data, financial account numbers and other highly sensitive information, the settlement agreement describes.
