Filed: January 30, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv236
Professional Bureau of Collections of Maryland and Cascade Receivables Management face a consumer's lawsuit arguing the contents of a collection notice.
Professional Bureau of Collections of Maryland, Inc. Cascade Receivables Management, LLC
Colorado
Professional Bureau of Collections of Maryland, Inc. (PBCM) and Cascade Receivables Management, LLC are the defendants in a Louisiana consumer’s proposed class action in which the individual claims he received a collection letter from PBCM that deceptively and incorrectly listed Cascade Receivables as the original creditor. According to the complaint, Cascade is a buyer of consumer debt, and therefore cannot be the original creditor.
“[The plaintiff] incurred an informational risk of harm as he was not provided with the correct creditor information which hindered him from making a decision about whether he owned the debt to whom the correct and true owner was,” the lawsuit argues.
