Leavens v. Datamax Corporation
Filed: November 8, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-06490
In a lawsuit, a NY consumer claims Datamax Corporation mailed him a notice in which it failed to properly disclose that it's a debt collector.
Datamax Corporation, which does business as Interstate Credit Collections, is the defendant in a proposed class action that alleges the company mailed him an initial notice in which it failed to disclose that it is a debt collector attempting to collect a debt, and any information obtained from the man would be used for that purpose. The lawsuit argues such a disclosure is required under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
