Samo v. Ace Parking Management, Inc.
Filed: December 1, 2017 ◆§ 3:17cv2414
A California consumer claims Ace Parking Management unlawfully printed the last four digits and expiration date of his debit card on a payment receipt.
California
In a proposed class action, a California consumer claims defendant Ace Parking Management, Inc. unlawfully printed the last four digits and expiration date of his Visa debit card on an electronically printed payment receipt. The plaintiff claims the defendant not only violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) amendment of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), but put him at a substantially higher risk of identity theft or fraud by failing to properly truncate its payment receipts.
“[The defendant’s] wanton violation and mishandling of consumers’ sensitive data is egregious in this matter,” the complaint scathes.
