Becker v. Quinstreet, Inc.
Filed: October 2, 2017 ◆§ 0:17-cv-61941-CMA
Quinstreet, Inc. finds itself facing another Telephone Consumer Protection Act lawsuit.
The company that runs a stable of websites that includes Schools.com, CampusCorner.com and SearchSchoolsNetwork.com finds itself as the defendant in a proposed class action that takes issue with its alleged practice of sending unsolicited telemarketing text messages. The lawsuit against Quinstreet, Inc. claims the company, despite having been sued for supposed Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) violations on at least two occasions, the case says, utilized an automated text-messaging platform to promote its services via text message without first receiving consent from consumers. The case claims the text messages in question contained a phone number identified as being owned and operated by Quinstreet, Inc.
