Comdata is facing a lawsuit filed by a California resident who claims the company sent him automated texts without first obtaining his express consent to do so.
Comdata Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a California resident who claims the company sent him automated texts without first obtaining his express consent to do so.
The lawsuit says the plaintiff received the following message from the payment processing company in August 2018:
“Comdata Maintenance Alert: Alerta de Comdata Mantenimiento 09/16/18 from 12am-12pmCST ATM, Cash & Pin based transactions will be unavailable during this time.”
According to the case, the plaintiff had no business relationship with the defendant when he received the message. The man reportedly went on to receive further identical texts from the company before replying “STOP” to a message in September 2018. Despite receiving confirmation that he had opted out of future messages, the plaintiff says the company continued to send him unwanted texts.
