Client Services, Inc. is facing claims that it failed to comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by neglecting to clearly identify a consumer’s creditor. The plaintiff says he received a letter from the defendant that stated: “Re: Chase Bank, USA, N.A.” The complaint alleges that the letter never specified whether Chase Bank is the creditor, original creditor, current creditor, or creditor to whom the debt is owed. The least sophisticated consumer, therefore, would be “likely be uncertain” as to the identity of his or her creditor, the suit says.
