Matzura v. Cure Management, LLC
Filed: July 7, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05130
A proposed class action out of New York claims Cure Management, LLC’s CureUrgentCare.com is not compliant with the ADA.
A proposed class action out of New York—the latest in the second wave of lawsuits over perceived online violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)—claims Cure Management, LLC’s CureUrgentCare.com is not compliant with the ADA due to accessibly barriers that prevent blind users from independently navigating the site.
The plaintiff, who’s held the same role in numerous other recent ADA lawsuits filed in New York, claims his screen reading software was incompatible with CureUrgentCare.com, leaving him unable to access, for example, the clinic’s hours of operation, information on available services, and insurance and appointment information. At its core, the case claims the accessibility barriers found on Cure Management’s website have denied blind and visually impaired class members access to the services provided at its walk-in clinics, given that the two are “heavily integrated.”
