A new class action lawsuit claims Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
A new class action lawsuit claims Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by contacting individuals without prior express consent using an automatic telephone dialing system. Filed in Wisconsin, the suit claims the defendants, including Great Lakes Education Loan Services Inc. and Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corp., placed calls to the plaintiff that featured a prerecorded, robotic voice asking about setting up a student loan payment plan. According to the complaint, the plaintiff had already paid off his Great Lakes student loans years ago. Despite reaching out to Great Lakes customer representatives and being placed on the Do Not Call list, the plaintiff says the autodialed calls continued.
