Class Action: Pyramid Hotel Group Transportation Service Violates ADA
Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Egan v. Pyramid Advisors Limited Partnership
Filed: October 25, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-01383-JFC
Pyramid Hotel Group does not offer alternative, wheelchair-accessible transportation services like those available to other guests, a class action claims.
Pennsylvania
A proposed class action filed in Pennsylvania alleges the customer transportation services offered by Pyramid Advisors Limited Partnership, which does business as Pyramid Hotel Group, violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The wheelchair-bound plaintiff alleges he was told by an agent at a Sheraton run by the defendant that its complimentary shuttle service was not wheelchair accessible. The hotel, moreover, would not provide an alternative transportation service to accommodate the plaintiff, the lawsuit claims.
The lawsuit claims an investigation performed on behalf of the plaintiff found that the defendant operates at least 39 hotels nationwide that provide transportation services to guests, yet do not offer equivalent accommodations to those who use wheelchairs or scooters.
