Hassen v. Tryke Companies Llc
Filed: November 2, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv3725
Tryke Companies is the defendant in a lawsuit filed over allegedly unauthorized text message advertisements.
Tryke Companies, LLC is facing a proposed class action filed over an allegedly “invasive and unlawful form of marketing” in which the defendant sent unauthorized text message advertisements en masse to “hundreds, if not thousands” of consumers.
The defendant does business as Reef Dispensaries and sells cannabis products in Nevada and Arizona, the case says. The plaintiff, a Nevada resident, claims he began receiving unsolicited and automated texts from the company in August 2018. According to the suit, the defendant allegedly violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by failing to obtain the plaintiff’s express written consent before sending the messages.
