A class action lawsuit claims Credit Control, LLC violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) by recording phone conversations with the proposed class members without receiving prior consent. The complaint alleges the debt collection agency, in an effort to collect on past-due accounts, used automatic dialing equipment to call class members—even after being told to stop—and recorded those conversations without warning consumers that their calls were being monitored.
