Fishman v. Mrs Bpo, Llc
Filed: February 15, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv1016
A proposed class action has been filed against MRS BPO, LLC by a New York woman who claims the debt collector misled her into believing she would benefit by paying the full amount of her alleged debt instead of accepting a settlement offer.
A proposed class action has been filed against MRS BPO, LLC by a New York woman who claims the debt collector misled her into believing she would benefit by paying the full amount of her alleged debt instead of accepting a settlement offer. The defendant allegedly sent her a collection letter informing her, in part, that her creditor “may offer [her] less favorable terms in the future” for its services if she settled her debt, thereby implying that paying the full balance instead would “improve her overall creditworthiness.” The suit argues that this implication is false and that the plaintiff’s full payment “would not have enhanced her likelihood of obtaining Chase credit products or services in the future.”
